4to. Uniformly bound in two later half calf bindings with gilt lettering to spine. With light occassional brownspotting but overall a nice and clean copy. Pp. 21-248; 236, (1) pp. 

First printing of this important botanical work, describing in total 345 new species of Guinean plants, 245 is supplied with Latin descriptions made by Thonning and about 100 by Schumacher. There is 18 new genera described.
