Beautifully printed 1549-edition (this copy, however, being quite worn) of Livius monumental Ab Urbe Condita. Since much of Livy’s original 142-book opus has been lost over time, Renaissance scholars dedicated themselves to recovering and refining what remained. This edition was notably improved by Caelius Secundus Curio, who corrected the text based on various manuscripts. His editorial work was instrumental in restoring Livy’s historical narrative to a more authentic state.
It was furthermore enhanced by the annotations by Beatus Rhenanus and Sigismund Gelenius.
