Previous owner's name and underlinings in red to title-page. Several of the plates are detached an loosely inserted. (22), 188 pp. + frontispiece and 15 engraved plates and 5 folded tables. 

First (only?) edition of this military treatise discussing the use of firearms in artillery at sea and on land. Beautifully illustrated with plates depicting the techniques and construction of cannons, while the tables provide an overview of range, gunpowder consumption and possible firing rates.
