First German translation, part 1 to 6 only, of Carminer’s richly illustrated extensive work on the Russo-Turkish War of 1768 to 1774, with detailed accounts of the prehistory and course of the war, peace efforts, domestic political conditions, description of the Turkish state and its armed forces, and much more. The work was first published in Venice in 1770 under the following title “Storia della guerra presente tra la Russia e la Porta Ottomana”.
The engravings include portraits of Mustafa III, Halil Pasha, Admiral Spiridov, Peter III, the Dardanelles Strait, among others.
