4to-oblong. In contemporary full calf. Wear to extremities boards with scratches, upper part of spine missing leather, cords showing. Inner hindges partly split. Ex-libris pasted on to pasted down front end-paper. First and last quires detached. Brownspotting throughout. (4), 48, (28) pp. + 51 engraved plates.

Rare first (and only) edition of this illustrated verson of Vergil's Aeneid, presumably intended for children.
