4to. In a bit later full calf binding with five raised bands and paper title-label pasted on to spine. Light occassional marginal brownspotting and two marginal repairs. A good copy. (14), 565, (40) pp. + frontispiece, engraved title-page and 79 illustrations (mostly full page, two folded).

First French translation of Caspar Bartholin's 1611 anatomical masterpiece, published by his son Thomas Bartholin. Bartholin’s ‘Anatomy’ became known all over Europe and greatly influenced the teaching of anatomy in the 17th century and was for many years a standard textbook on the subject.
