The very rare first edition of Curtius' first work, in which he is the first to deal properly and scientifically with the formation of the nominal stem in classical Greek.

Georg Curtius (1820-1885) is one of the leading German classicists of all times. His writings were fundamental to the study of the Greek language and are among the most profound, influential and thorough ever written. He is primarily remembered for his magnum opus, "Grundzüge der Griechischen Etymologie", which counts as one of the most important and influential works on the theory of language.
