First printing of Landau's "fundamental work in the field of the theory of metals, showing that the degenerate electron gas possesses diamagnetic susceptibility" (DSB), often referred to as Landau diamagnetism.

"His best known work from this time is his diamagnetism of metals in which he showed that not only the spins of free electrons contribute to the magnetic properties of a metal but also their orbits.
