Scarce second edition of Van Horne's famous "Introductio". Van Horne was a respected anatomist and appouinted professor of anatomy in Leiden. With the assistance of Swammerdam he investigated the ovaries and published his observations in "Prodomus" (which is present in the item offered). These observations played some role in the priority dispute between Regnier de Graff and Swammerdam. His Introductio (Microcoasmus) was much in demand and was translated into Dutch, German and French (offered here under the title "Mikpotexnh". - Waller: 4912.- Wellcome III, p. 301 a.
